Workshop〜Ume dyeing〜 for Foreign Residents

Join us for our workshop!

We are offering a Japanese traditional arts textile workshop using dye from the plum tree. “Ume dyeing” uses a natural dye made from ume branches from Kairakuen Garden. Kairakuen is famous for plum blossom viewing in Mito. This is a unique workshop offered one day only on January 22nd. Don’t miss it!

Place : Mito International Center

Date & Time : January 22nd Saturday, 10:00 am~12:00 pm (Registration opens at 9:45 am)

Note : We will offer an afternoon class from 1:30 pm~3:30 pm (Registration opens at 1:15 pm),if we have enough participants.
10 people maximum for each class (first come, first served)
The workshop is especially for foreign residents. Please bring your family and friends.
Japanese citizens are also welcome. Contact us if you have any questions.

Fee : 900 yen /person

  1. Please register in person at Mito International Center from December 7th Tuesday 2021 to January 16th Sunday 2022 by 5 pm. Please pay the 900 yen fee when you sign up.
